Meet the Team

Sean Veakins

Partner

Sean has worked for Place, Blair and Hatch Solicitors since 1991. Sean’s early career was as an accountant working firstly for Coopers and Lybrand and later for Chartered Trust.

Sean is the Senior Partner at Place, Blair and Hatch and is principally involved in;

  1. All aspects of Conveyancing work including both Freehold and Leasehold commercial and domestic Conveyancing as well as farm sales.
  2. Wills and Probate, dealing with the drafting of Wills and the administration of Estates including completion of Inheritance Tax Forms and the ultimate distribution of the Estate to the Beneficiaries.
  3. Lasting Powers of Attorney for both Health and Welfare and Property and Financial Affairs and also applications for the Appointment of Deputyship.
  4. Advising elderly clients on all aspects relating to care home fees and estate planning.

Sean starts work at 7:15am each morning to assist those clients who are unable to attend appointments during working hours and also undertakes homes visits if required.

Faye Beattie

Partner

Faye qualified as a Solicitor in 2003 and has over 16 years’ experience in residential Conveyancing matters and Wills and Probate. She joined Place, Blair and Hatch Solicitors in 2015 and became a Partner in 2017.

Faye acts in all aspects of residential Conveyancing of both Freehold and Leasehold properties, shared ownership properties, new build property acquisitions, shared equity and re-mortgages.

Faye can also help with the drafting of Wills, Probate applications, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters.
Faye has a down to earth approach and is dedicated to keeping clients informed at every stage and meeting their particular needs and requirements in order to develop and maintain excellent client relationships.

Emma Harbron

Solicitor

As Head of our Family Department, Emma is a dynamic Solicitor and takes a pragmatic approach to all matters offering realistic and achievable solutions to her clients whilst striving to achieve the best possible outcome. Emma prides herself on building excellent client relationships and offering support to her clients in what can be an extremely emotional and challenging times in their lives.

Emma has worked in Family Law for over 13 years working in both private practice and Local Authority. Emma has experience in all areas of Family Law including divorce, financial matters, disputes involving children, prenuptial agreements, living together agreements, separation agreements, injunctions, child protection and care proceedings.

Emma qualified as a Solicitor in 2010 having studied her Law Degree at the University of Teesside and Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in York. Whilst at University Emma knew she wanted to practice in Family Law and chose to specialise in that area as early as possible.
Emma is a Committee Member of the Tees Valley Resolution and a Member of Resolution Nationally.
